The following provides a brief list of criteria the SJHRA Board will consider when reviewing a proposal for an affiliation with the SJHRA. The criteria below was developed to guide board decisions. However the Board may consider other affiliations that do not meet the criteria if it feels the benefits to members are substantial and the affiliation supports the mission and purpose of the SJHRA.

Consideration of Affiliate Status is given if the affiliate is:

  1. A non-profit or for-profit organization whose broad-range of services provide a practical use to the vast majority of the general membership.
  2. A non-profit or for-profit organization who provides a substantial savings or significant incentive to the membership that is not available to the general public.
  3. A non-profit or for-profit organization who provides the SJHRA a valuable service such as rebates for products, free speakers for functions, etc., or the incentives provided in some way compensate the SJHRA for any lost revenue.
  4. A non-profit or for-profit organization whose broad-range of services provided to the membership do not in any way incur a cost to the SJHRA.
  5. A non-profit or for-profit organization who agrees and signs an “Affiliation Agreement” that includes provisions for limited length of affiliation and early termination of the affiliation with reasonable notice.

Written proposals should be addressed to the President of the Chapter and mailed to the Associaiton Address or submitted by email to info@sjhra.org.

Affiliation requests wil be presented to the Executive Board of Directors for review and approval. Affiliations will only be entered into if the majority of the Board votes to approve the proposal.

Should any affiliation in any way adversely affect the membership, SJHRA’s financial stability, or the reputation of the SJHRA, or if the affiliation proves to be administratively burdensome, the board will motion to dissolve the affiliation. Any member of the Board of Directors may make a motion to dissolve an affiliation.
